Sparrowgate Youth Mentoring
A grown-up in their corner. A team around them.
We build relationships young people can count on, while keeping parents and guardians informed at every step.
How we keep kids safe
What the program is
Sparrowgate matches young people ages 11 to 18 with screened, trained adults for one-to-one mentoring. Community matches spend time together 2 to 4 times a month. School-based matches meet weekly during lunch.
How we keep kids safe
Every mentor completes a criminal background check and registry check before meeting a young person. Community mentors also receive a driving-record check. We speak with three references, meet mentors in person, and provide training before a match begins.
How we stay connected
A match specialist introduces the mentor and young person with the parent or guardian there. They check in with mentors monthly and stay available as the relationship grows.
You know your young person best.
We want their voice and yours to shape the match from the start.
